Portraits of Musicians - Gone with the Wind

It is easy to express our feelings in the language of music, and it is easy to invoke the prayers that wind players offer to Aeolus, the god of the wind, from time to time. The history of mankind has been imbued with music from the very beginning.

Our most ancient instruments are all wind instruments, which have accompanied us along this long journey while making their own development.

The Ugarit shepherd grazed his flock while playing the flute, just as thousands of years later, the Hungarian shepherd did, and the cattleman played his song on the clarinet just like the classical musician or the Jazz player does.

There were times and situations when the wind instruments defined the music scene; they would lead the bands that played dance music until they were somewhat relegated to the background with the arrival of the strings. Shepherds, however, did preserve the tradition of the lead wind player for us until the end of the last century.

Our show gives an insight into these people's lives while walking us through the 20th century, which changed everything for good. Although the culture and tradition it created are now lost in the countryside, the values that it created live on in the city and have become part of all of us today.
