Szentcsalád-járás

 

A szentcsalád-járás, másképpen (’Szállás keres a Szent Család’ vagy ’szentcsaládkilenced’) a karácsonyi ünnep előtt kilenc napon át ismétlődő szálláskeresés, általában kilenc szomszéd vagy rokon család ájtatossága. A Szent Család képének vagy szobrának december 15-től karácsony estéig naponta felváltva szállást adnak. A képet a rendező énekes asszony vagy maga hinti meg szenteltvízzel, vagy a pap áldja meg. A soros családban házioltárt készítenek égő mécsessel vagy gyertyával az érkező Szent Család képének fogadására, ahol rendesen a többi családok is összegyülekeznek, amikor esti Úrangyalára harangoznak.

A szentkép előtt közösen imádkoznak és egyházi eredetű népénekeket énekelnek. Megesik, hogy közösen felkeresnek egy falubeli szegény gyermekes családot és megajándékozzák, mintha a Szent Családnak adakoznának. A kilencnapos ájtatosság után a kép vagy a templomba, vagy valamelyik családhoz kerül, aki jövő adventi megőrzi azt.

This year, too, the Hungarian Heritage House will open its doors on the Night of Museums. Here, the past will become an experience and tradition will take on new meaning. The Buda Vigadó building will be open for exploration from the attic to the cellar.
 

Busós at the air­port

We are in the middle of the carnival season, and the Busójárás festival in Mohács is fast approaching, which will fill the city in southern Hungary with life for six days at the end of February. This folk custom, which marks the end of winter and the arrival of spring, will appear not only in Mohács this year, but also at the capital's airport.
