Bartók köztudottan a XX. század egyik legkiemelkedőbb, legmeghatározóbb zenei egyénisége. Művei döntő többségében felfedezhető a népzene hatása. Miközben megalkotta korunk modern klasszikus zenéjét, olyan dallamokat, dallamfordulatokat, harmóniákat és ritmusokat alkalmazott, melyekkel népzenei gyűjtőútjain és azt követő lejegyzései során találkozott. Sokszor írt arról, miként befolyásolta zeneszerzését a népzenével való kapcsolata: "Ez a befolyás akkor valósul meg a leghatékonyabban a zenész számára, ha a népzenét nem holt gyűjtemányekből ismeri meg, hanem abban az alakjában, ahogyan fékezetlen él a nép körében. Ha átadja magát az eleven népzene impressziójának, s ha tükrözteti műveiben ezeknek az impresszióknak a hatását, akkor az élet egy darabját rögzítette."

Busós at the airport
We are in the middle of the carnival season, and the Busójárás festival in Mohács is fast approaching, which will fill the city in southern Hungary with life for six days at the end of February. This folk custom, which marks the end of winter and the arrival of spring, will appear not only in Mohács this year, but also at the capital's airport.
