The mystery of wine

Wine is more than just a drink: it is an ancient symbol, a kind of wholeness in which earth and sky, body and soul, and mortality and life all pulse together. The performance does not present a series of memories handed down to us through folklore, but rather explores the mystery of wine: for in a single sip lie sanctity, sacrifice, celebration, intoxication, joy, and solace.

The arc stretches from the Festival of Dionysus to the Last Supper; the vines bend, the vineyards stretch out, and the barrels stand in rows. The dance becomes a ritual, the raising of the glass a prayer, and the clinking of glasses the intertwining of destinies. Wine is at once profane and sacred, a mirror in which the near-totality of human existence glimmers.

Inviting you to savor...

The performance does not explain, but invites you to savor: the lively acids, the spicy warmth, the flavors of an old leather coat and chocolate, the scent of apricot blossoms—perfumed and playful. The tannin structure has a hazy, autumnal quality, and then the finalship, which lingers in a heartwarming way...

The intellectual framework of the presentation is inspired by Béla Hamvas and his concept of “wine as a sacrament.”
