Summer break at the Hungarian Heritage House

 – the hustle and bustle will resume in the fall

The festival season is in full swing, and our team is also joining the summer vacationers: the institution will be closed between July 28 and August 18, 2025. During this period, visits to the building will be suspended, our exhibitions will not be available, and it will not be possible to purchase tickets in person either. Our restaurant called Vigadó Bistro will also be closed – visitors will not be able to have coffee or lunch at their usual location.

The library will be open by prior arrangement

However, we will not leave those completely on their own who are thirsty for knowledge and wish to read – the Martin György Specialized Library will continue to welcome visitors by prior e-mail appointment on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. If you have time to research, read, and would like to use the library's services, please write to this email address: konyvtar@hagyomanyokhaza.hu

Stage productions will also return in September

Although summer is a time for relaxation, organizers are already preparing for autumn: the Hungarian Heritage House will welcome audiences with a rich program starting in September. In addition to the returning dance houses, the palette also includes real cultural treats: among others, the Hungarian State Folk Ensemble's anniversary performance entitled Sun Legend and Julcsi Paár's kids production called Fox Dance, will also be staged.

Autumn events

Online ticket sales for autumn events have already begun, so organizers recommend securing your spots early, as tickets for the most popular events sell out quickly. Tickets for guided tours of the Hungarian Museum of Folk Art are also available during the break, with tickets available online.

The Hungarian Heritage House wishes all visitors a meaningful and enjoyable summer, and looks forward to welcoming the public back with renewed vigor and new programs starting in the second half of August!

Craft_ME is being introduced through Folk_ME

Craft_ME (Craft Media & Education) is an innovative digital platform focused on teaching and preserving folk crafts. Its primary goal is to make the entire process of traditional craft techniques and trades—from the initial preparation of materials to the completion of the finished object—visually accessible to a wide range of people interested in the profession, using digital tools.
