Photo col­lec­tion of Zoltán Kallós

Zoltán Kallós's folk music and photo collection has been incorporated into the Media Archive in several parts since 2001. The photos were taken between 1956 and 1983 during the author’s collecting trips to Transylvania and Moldva along with Bertalan Andrásfalvy, György Martin and Ferenc Pesovár. A total of 11314 photographs are available in various collection units:

  • 4649 paper-based photos
  • 1243 images arranged in 18 albums
  • 5422 negatives and slides, contained in 161 reels.

The selection of about 450 images available on this website is a selection of thereof, which, in addition to Zoltán Kallós's main collecting areas - Kalotaszeg, Mezőség, Szék, Felcsík, Gyimes and Moldva - also includes images of Avas Romanians and Szeben Saxons.


Craft_ME is be­ing in­tro­duced through Folk_ME

Craft_ME (Craft Media & Education) is an innovative digital platform focused on teaching and preserving folk crafts. Its primary goal is to make the entire process of traditional craft techniques and trades—from the initial preparation of materials to the completion of the finished object—visually accessible to a wide range of people interested in the profession, using digital tools. 

Folk_ME has been in­tro­duced in Qatar

Hungarian Heritage House’s digital music education program, which garnered interest from several countries, opening up new opportunities for collaboration.

The festival season is in full swing, and our team is also joining the summer vacationers: the institution will be closed between July 28 and August 18, 2025.
