Fid­dlers’ Com­pet­i­tion of Balaton­füred

In 2013, the Municipality of Balatonfüred and the Hungarian Heritage House organized its first Anna Ball First Violinists’ Competition with great success. Balatonfüred, preparing for the Anna Ball, is a great match for the introduction of the gypsy first violinists of long history and, of traditional Hungarian folk musicians every second year, as it recalls the national awakening, one of the most prosperous periods of the Hungarian history.

In 2019, all violinists who pursue the classical gypsy music who have reached the age of 16 until the day of the competition but have not yet passed 35 can apply again. The public stage competition will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday on the week before Anna Ball in Balatonfüred. The members of the jury will be illustrious professionals of Hungarian folk music. During the competition, each first violinist must perform two pieces, a mandatory and a freely chosen one, each for 5-5 minutes.

Remuneration:

•             The first prize is one million forints

•             The second prize: five hundred thousand forints

•             The third prize is three hundred thousand forints

 

On the evening of 24 July, we will organize a gala concert of the best productions and the performances of the invited performers on the large stage set up at Gyógy Square.
