Juan José Jaén Ar­royo “El Junco”

Juan José Jaén Arroyo, known artistically as "El Junco", was born in Cádiz in 1975. He started dancing at the age of 8. A few years later, he was already a member of the flamenco band Enrique el Mellizo and appeared in various TV shows; later, he performed more and more with famous artists. In 1993, he continued his studies in Seville, as a student of the famous flamenco master Manolo Marín. He won the national flamenco competition that year. In 2008, he was awarded the MAX Prize for Best Male Dancer of the Year by the SGAE (General Society of Authors). In addition to performing regularly as a soloist, he now also works as a choreographer.
