Zsófia Pirók

Zsófia is a Flamenco dancer who graduated in Seville. In Hungary, her solo evenings and premieres of her complete dance theatre productions are organised by the National Dance Theatre. In her creations, she constantly seeks connections with other artistic disciplines, thus expanding the boundaries of the genre and bringing flamenco - which was inscribed on the UNESCO list of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity on 16 November 2010 - into the professional art scene in Hungary. To further her professional knowledge and to keep her artistic contacts fresh, she returns to Andalusia every year for various courses, training and performances, as well as every two years to the biggest international festival, the Bienal de Flamenco. The professional quality of her lectures is underlined by the endorsement of the Spanish Embassy and the Cervantes Institute of Budapest. She believes that art is the universal language that builds bridges between cultures, nations and souls.
