"Hungarian" dances from Transylvania, In The Last Hour

Doctoral concert of László Kelemen PhD (DLA)

Kelemen writes in his doctoral thesis: “When studying the Mezőség pieces of the In The Last Hour collection (1997-2000), I noticed, recalling György Martin's studies, the numerous Hungarian and folk dances, dance and dance-related music terms used by the Romanian-speaking respondents, known as ungurește, de ungurime or variations of these terms. In the course of the collection, a large number of new melodies were discovered in this context, and data on most of them have been processed in the Folklore Database of the Hungarian Heritage House, but the results have not yet been systematized and summarized.”

The concert in the Hungarian Heritage House is intended to be a kind of musical synthesis of the collector's experience, which naturally, from the subjective point of view of the contributors, gives a comprehensive and colourful picture of Transylvanian instrumental and vocal folk music, using the music of "Hungarian" dances as a red thread.
