Days of Bukov­ina

To remain Székelys in a foreign land - in short, that is the fate of Bukovina Székelys.

Several waves of deportations, life in constant exile, ever-changing surroundings and lifestyles, alien cultures of surrounding ethnic groups - all of the above played a significant role in shaping the traditional elements brought from the homeland. The objects, virtues, costumes, gastronomy, folk tale repertoire, folk dance and folk music and rich dialect of this folk still preserves traces of Székely culture; however, the outside world has shaped these people into a very distinct and independent ethnic group.
