40th Fest­iv­al of Folk Arts Or­gan­ized by the As­so­ci­ation of Folk Artists, Day 1

Visitors can enjoy craft shows, folk puppet theater, children’s dance lessons and concerts, book sales, and the Fabatka Porta folk playground.

At the Festival of Folk Arts, folk crafts also feature prominently in the Hungarian Heritage House’s program lineup, as a full-day folk playhouse awaits those who visit our courtyard. At the craft tables, under the guidance of the institution’s excellent instructors and with the participation and assistance of the current students, visitors can create exciting crafts from 10 am to 7 pm. You can make wreaths with woven reeds, felted earrings, necklaces, and bracelets; woven bracelets; small pouches woven on a cord loom; and pinwheels and funnels made from willow twigs.

In addition, on all four days from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm and then from 5:00 pm to 5:30 pm, the richness of traditional folk costumes will be on full display, as we can watch wonderful costume shows and marvel at the diversity of our folk culture.

The program offers a variety of activities, including storytime concerts for kids, a folk puppet shows, a children’s dance workshops, folk music concerts, singing lessons, and instrument shows.
