Dezső Fitos Dance Ensemble: Taven baxtale! - Be lucky!

The main objective of the performance is to present the crafts related to the Gypsy people in the most complex and diverse way possible. Just as the crafts themselves are very diverse, the performance strives for formal and artistic diversity. To this end, it uses the musical and vocal material of the varied Gypsy dances of the Hungarian-speaking Carpathian Basin as a tool, with a focus on the Gypsy culture of Western and Eastern Europe. It also gives an insight into the daily life of Boyash Gypsies and mud-working Gypsies, as well as into the lives of stuntmen and musicians. The dramaturgical leitmotif of the performance is the portrayal of the Gypsies' wandering nature. The performance is interspersed with a cavalcade of crafts, from which one always stands out. The ethereal structure also allows for alternating scenes, sometimes balladic and lyrical, sometimes lively and comic, while providing insights not only into the crafts but also into the origins and history of the Gypsy people.

The performance will feature the Szentendre Dance Ensemble, the students of the Baross Imre Artist Training Institute, Bence Pálházi's band, the Canarro Orchestra, Mónika Lakatos and Mihály Mazsi Lakatos, Júlia Nyakó and Elizabeth Ferge
Director-choreographer: Enikő Kocsis and Dezső Fitos
