The programme has been created for the North-American tour of the Hungarian State Folk Ensemble in 2013. The show has been performed in the biggest cities, concert halls and theatres of the USA and Canada from New York City to San Francisco and from Toronto to Miami.

The political cataclysm of the nineties had resulted in the emergence of new democracies in Central and East Europe. The living memory of the revolution of 1956 had made Hungary a protagonist of such changes. A new Hungarian Republic was born. This signi-ficant historic event fundamentally and quickly reshaped our economic, social and cultural environment. However, the whole world is continuously changing and we are influenced by these changes.

The Hungarian State Folk Ensemble is performing a series of three interrelated dance theater shows called Bartók Trilogy. The first part of the trilogy, titled "Treasures from North" appeared in 2006.

The Sky from my Father’s Window gives us an insight into one of the most important secrets of life: how boys strive to become adult men, how it all happens in a struggle, and yet unnoticeably. A child observes his father from the safe embrace of his mother - this is the starting point, this is where the “dance adventure” sets off.

The symbolic meaning of dream has been known since the dawn of history. In the archaic mythologies of natural peoples, dream is reality, sometimes accorded a higher order than consciousness. However, the “hidden small doors” of dreams in Dream Time do not open onto the “cosmic primordial night” (Jung). The “dream god” of Dream Time is not Hypnos of Greek mythology, nor is the performance a Freudian analysis…
