Tra­di­tion­al­ists of Mezőkölpény

Mezőkölpény is located on the eastern edge of the Mezőség region in Transylvania. Also called the Székely-Mezőség, this territory extends in a triangular shape from the former Marosszék region into the Mezőség region. The dances and music of Mezőkölpény received more attention than before in the early 90s, and it was during these years that it spilled over to the Hungarian dance house movements. The Vackorvirág Folk Dance Ensemble of Mezőkölpény aims to preserve and pass on local values: they will be represented at the gala by Carmen Gherman, Teréz Szabó, Endre Hanzi and Zsolt Kis.
