Pontosan ez a sokoldalúság, a pedagógus és zeneszerző Kodály nemzetközi és hazai sikerei kissé háttérbe szorították a tudós Kodályt. Pedig pályatársával, Bartók Bélával együtt ők teremtették meg a tudományos alapokra helyezett magyar népzenekutatást, s annak máig ható nemzetközi rangot vívtak ki. 2007-ben a Hagyományok Háza Folklórdokumentációs Központja fotó- és dokumentumkiállítással emlékezett a népzenekutató Kodály Zoltánra.
A jubileumi tárlat áttekintette Kodály életművének azokat az állomásait, amelyek népzene-kutatói szemléletének kialakulásához vezettek, illetve azokat a kutatási témaköröket, eredményeket, tudományos műhelyteremtő erőfeszítéseket, amelyek által a magyar népzenekutatás a nemzetközi etnomuzikológiai törekvések élvonalába került.

In the summer of 2026, numerous folk music and folk dance camps will once again welcome participants in the Carpathian Basin and the diaspora. The offerings include camps for children, youth, adults, and families. 

Night of Mu­seums in the Hun­gari­an Her­it­age House

This year, too, the Hungarian Heritage House will open its doors on the Night of Museums. Here, the past will become an experience and tradition will take on new meaning. The Buda Vigadó building will be open for exploration from the attic to the cellar.
